The Iowa-Missouri tractor pull slated as grandstand entertainment Saturday evening at the Greene County Fair has been canceled. It took less than an inch of Friday night rain to make the already saturated infield unusable for the heavy equipment of a tractor pull.
According to fair board secretary Doug Hawn, the Sunday night Grand River Rodeo is still scheduled. He explained that because of the lighter weight of the needed equipment, he’s not concerned about the rodeo.
Meanwhile, the kids’ pedal tractor pull was held Saturday afternoon as planned. Pictured is 4-year-old Lilyita Zito, who pulled the sled more than 32 feet. She didn’t win her class; Jadyn Weber lasted a whopping 40+ feet.
An estimated 300 were in attendance for a free performance Friday evening by Gunnar and Grizzly Boys. It sprinkled just a bit of rain, but the show went on.
